The Saudi cooperation team, under the leadership of its French coach Patrice Carteron, was able to qualify for the 16th round of the AFC Champions League, after winning a clean goal over Al-Duhail, Qatar, in the final round of the group stage, which was held in a combined system in Qatar due to the precautionary measures related to the Coronavirus.
Mitchell Thomas Duke scored the game’s only goal in the 86th minute, after a cross from the left side headed it into the Qatari net.
Saudi Cooperation raised its score to 9 points and snatched the second place from Al-Duhail, with the advantage of direct confrontations, where it beat the Qatari team in the back and forth matches.
Al-Taawon will play the 16th round of the tournament against Al-Nasr Saudi Arabia.
