Cartagena Municipal Public Services Excel in Satisfaction Ahead of Elections: OSUR Barometer

CARTAGENA. The proximity of the municipal elections, called for May 28, has promoted excellence in the management of municipal public services in the city of Cartagena, which has significantly increased the degree of satisfaction with municipal public services, 33% more than to the year 2022, according to the V Barometer of satisfaction of municipal public services, promoted by the Urban Services Observatory (OSUR).

Regarding the care of parks and gardens and conservation of public spaces, Cartagena achieves 86% of satisfied users, compared to 33% satisfaction reflected in the previous study carried out in 2022. Similarly, the perception of street cleaning rises from 33% from positive valuation in 2022 to 84% in the current year. The most appreciated aspect is the frequency with which road cleaning work is carried out in the different areas, with 90% satisfaction. About cleaning up pet waste, the worst aspect in all the cities studied, in Cartagena it maintains 37% dissatisfied, greatly improving the degree of citizen satisfaction that grows almost 10 points to 62%.

For Lorenzo Dávila, Director General of OSUR: “Cartagena has been quite a surprise due to the outstanding improvement in its public services, as shown by the degree of satisfaction of its citizens. Although water remains as in previous years as the most highly valued service, efforts to digitize the urban water cycle and improvements in purification have boosted the grade achieved by the council in this regard to excellence. In general, citizens have improved their assessment of all municipal public services”.

The results of this fifth edition of the Barometer are the result of an ODC survey of 5,200 people carried out between April 12 and May 12, which seeks to reflect the opinion of citizens regarding their municipal public services, in the 30 most populated in the country: Madrid, Barcelona, ​​Valencia, Seville, Zaragoza, Malaga, Murcia, Palma de Mallorca, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Bilbao, Alicante, Córdoba, Valladolid, Vigo, Gijón, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Vitoria, A Coruña, Granada, Elche , Oviedo, Terrassa, Badalona, ​​Cartagena, Jerez de la Frontera, Sabadell, Móstoles, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Pamplona and Alcalá de Henares.
