This measure aims to reinforce the vaccination strategy that the Ministry of Health has already advanced. Through the Expanded Immunization Program, the country has permanently had vaccines and boosters for the population residing in the national territory in more than 3,000 inoculation points throughout the country, distributed as follows:

During the first half of 2023, the Ministry made Sinovac and Janssen vaccines available to the population for the application of the primary and first booster schedule.

In the second half of 2023, the Pfizer and Janssen vaccines were available for additional doses to prioritized groups from July through September 30.

Currently the country has availability of the Sinovac vaccine. Before June 30, the country did not have authorization for the use of the Bivalent vaccine. The Ministry of Health reported in November that it began the process for the entry of the vaccine into the country and that as of November 9, there were 757,400 doses of Vaccine from the Moderna Laboratory – Bivalent BA4/BA5.
