Cartagena could run out of trains during the month of August due to repairs on the tracks | Radio Cartagena

Cartagena could be isolated by train during the month of August on the railway line that connects Cartagena and Murcia. ADIF could issue an official statement announcing this fact, putting buses between the city of Cartagena and Murcia to alleviate the lack of rail service, which will be the end of the line that normally connects the city with Madrid or Barcelona. The cause offered by the company is that the Railway Infrastructure Administrator, ADIF, It has to carry out repair work for damage caused by torrential rains in recent months.

There is also the circumstance that the station Cartagena ran out of trains for almost five weeks after DANA in September, being one of the points of the network that took the longest to reestablish its rail traffic.

This fact has been criticized by MC Cartagena, whose spokesman, José López, qualifies the Renfe service with the city as “regrettable” and “nineteenth-century”. The Cartagena formation regrets that the so-called “regional tourist capital” runs out of trains during the high season and that it is “an ordeal” to access it. Remember also that “neither AVE nor goods appear on the medium-term horizon.”
