Carson Wentz will be the new quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts. Several American media made the information public on Thursday, but the officialization of the transfer cannot take place before March 17, the date of the start of the 2021 season.

Wentz therefore leaves the Philadelphia Eagles where he spent his first five years in the NFL. In 2017, he had made a superb start to the season. Under his leadership, his team had won 10 matches in a row. But Carson Wentz was subsequently injured in a knee and it was his replacement, Nick Foles, who had guided the Eagles to their first Super Bowl victory.

A third draft round in 2021
Last December, Wentz had lost his starting position, in favor of Jalen Hurts. In compensation for his departure, the Philadelphia Eagles secured a third draft round for 2021 and a second round for 2022 (which could turn into a first round, if Wentz plays 75% of his new team’s offensive actions). At the Indianapolis Colts, Carson Wentz will replace Philip Rivers, who announced the end of his career in January.
