Cars in Plovdiv will soon no longer have camper numbers on the front, find out why

Regular reader of Plovdiv24.bg he asks what will happen when the letter codes for the previous car registration in Plovdiv run out. Which letters would replace the current “РВ” in numbers.

“Hello, respected media relevant to the Plovdiv region! The series of car registration numbers in the Plovdiv region will probably run out by the end of next year, due to the increase in the rate of newly registered vehicles in the region, which will lead to a new “police conundrum” with the need to come up with a new code for the city of Plovdiv replacing the existing RV (probably the future would be “RM” on the example of the capital Sofia, which in 2014 replaced the second letter of its second exhausted code CA with the next consecutive letter – “SV”).

To avoid such a recent need to amend the regional code of Plovdiv, the Regional Directorate of Traffic Police of the city under the hills should follow the example of professional colleagues of the Traffic Police – Sofia, who in March this year made a decision locally, with which the range of possible combinations of letters has been expanded by adding the letter E as the second possible symbol in the series of cars registered in the capital.

I ask you to take the same decision made in the city of Sofia by the governing bodies in the structure of the Traffic Police – Plovdiv, regarding the registration of motor vehicles, which will give more time to the current letter of designation of our city and allow at least for a few years to come to the impending problem with running out of possible combinations, adding a whole new set of possible 9s with a second letter E following the example of the capital Sofia.

Plovdiv24.bg appealed for a competent answer to the OMVRD and personally to the head of the sector “Traffic police”, chief inspector Jordan Milushev. He assured us that there would be no difficulty running out of existing codes. The process is continuously monitored and the other code letters of the license plate will be determined without shock.

“In relation to requests received from your readers, I inform you of the following:

Pursuant to article 24, paragraph 1, of ordinance no. , and the order to provide data on registered road vehicles, the registration number consists of an alphabetic code for registration – one or a combination of two letters, a serial number – a four-digit combination of numbers from 0 to 9 and a series – one or a combination of two letters.

According to par. The 2-letter registration code and series used are determined by the Directorate General of the State Police.

I assure you that the process of issuing license plates is monitored daily and in a timely manner, before the currently introduced letter combinations per series of the registration code for the Plovdiv region – “RV” are exhausted, other letters for the letter code of registration numbers, so that there is no violation of the normal rhythm of the process of issuing license plates in the “Traffic Police” sector of the Traffic Safety Administration – Plovdiv”.
