An agricultural machine project called “Sou Boss”, was launched this Sunday, September 1, by Carrinho Agri, in the town of Luquembo, Malanje region to support six thousand family producers in the cultivation of rice.
The project includes tractors, seeders, dryers, threshers and other equipment for rent to farming families with contracts with Carrinho Agri, so that they can develop mechanized agriculture and thus increase rice production levels.
To pay for machine services, Carrinho Agri entered into a partnership with the Banco de Comércio e Indústria (BCl), which in turn provides credit to producers for incremental repayments.
The president of the Board of Directors of Carrinho Agri, David Maciel, said that with mechanization, producers will be able to go from one ton to three to four per hectare, therefore, the project will soon cover farmers from other parts of Malanje province and the country in general.
He said that the results achieved in the last two agricultural campaigns, by hand, showed that with the “Sou Boss” project, the family sector would be able to produce to make the country its own. -sufficient in rice cultivation, living up to the level of the Government. intentions, and that is why Carrinho Agri seeks a funding partnership for farmers.
He said that the project also includes agricultural insurance and farmers’ pensions, which is why mediation agreements were made with the insurance company Viva Seguros and the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), similar to what is already happening with corn producers in other regions of the country.
On the other hand, David Maciel announced for the future, irrigation support packages to allow the production of rice twice a year, vegetable, fruit, chicken and pig production projects, with a view to diversifying crops with family producers in the town of Luquembo.
Then, the president of the BCI Board of Directors, Pedro Luís, did not reveal the financial package, but he expressed the interest of the Bank and that there was money to give money to farmers who were interested in machines agriculture.
He pointed out that one of the factors that motivated the contract with Carrinho Agri, to finance the “Sou Boss” project, was to contribute to food security in the country, which is highly dependent on agriculture, especially the sector the family.
The director of the Regional Office of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Carlos Chipoia, confirmed that the government, through the Integrated Program for Rural Development and Combating Poverty, has created conditions for the preparation of 200 hectares per village in each agricultural season, but with the intervention of Carrinho, a higher figure is expected for Luquembo from now on, which will also represent an increase in production.
For this reason, he praised the initiative of Carrinho and expressed the institutional support of the government, as well as asking the peasants to accept this project and adhere to contractual agreements, striving for permanent communication if problems there.
Some peasants considered the initiative of Carrinho’s company as a way to promote production, which, in addition to increasing production, will improve the living conditions of families.
Carrinho Agri works in the town of Luquembo supporting farmers involved in the cultivation of rice, at the same time as being the main customer for the same production.
