The carriers left the Dondukov 1 government building in a scandal, announcing that they were moving the protests 8 days ahead, and that they would continue from May 10 to 18, and that buses would stop running on the last date. This was stated by Magdalena Miltenova from the Confederation of Bus Carriers and Yordan Arabadjiev from the Union of International Carriers as they left the meeting.

The scandal happened after the Prime Minister Kiril Petkov stated that in this hall (granite hall of the Council of Ministers) he set the rules and who did not like it – to leave. He showed us the door and we left, Miltenova said.

This is the first time in the democratic history of Bulgaria, she said, adding that these people had no notion of protocol and ethics.

In addition to the prime minister, the meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Grozdan Karadzhov and Transport Minister Nikolay Sabev.

The topic of our meeting was about anti-crisis measures in transport, we did not hear any. The Prime Minister told us that he wanted to listen to us. We have been talking for two weeks about what we insist on and we want to hear measures, said the leader of the bus carriers.

Petkov said that everyone wants – retirees, Interior Ministry. When the carriers reacted, insisting that the meeting focus on their problems, Petkov had reacted by saying what would happen in this hall.

The Prime Minister explained for 10-15 minutes how the excise tax on fuels could not be reduced. Miltenova told reporters that she has a letter from the European Commission that it could shrink by as much as 50 percent.
