Bhopal: Four people have been arrested for allegedly carrying a Dalit woman on her shoulders for miles. The incident sparked controversy after a video of the incident in Madhya Pradesh was circulated. The video shows a woman being abused, insulted and beaten by a mob.
The incident took place in Sagai village in Guna district of Madhya Pradesh. According to police, the woman, who was living in her own village after separating from her husband, was harassed by a group of husbands from her husband’s village. The girl was allegedly having an affair with another man.
The video shows a group of men harassing a woman with sticks and cricket bats and forcing someone to walk down the road. A member of the husband’s family was carried on his shoulders. According to the police, the woman was taken with him for a distance of 3 km.
