Actress Carrie Fisher was posthumously honored with a star on Hollywood’s famous Walk of Fame on Thursday. The tile of the Star Warsactress has been revealed by her daughter Billie Lourd. She had not invited the Fisher siblings.
It was already announced in 2021 that Fisher would get a spot on the Walk of Fame. A suitable day has been chosen for the actual unveiling. May 4 is seen as Star Wars Day, because May the 4th much like the famous one Star Wars-pronunciation “May the Force be with you“.
Star Wars was an important theme during the ceremony. For example, Lourd wore a dress with an image of Princess Leia, her mother’s character, for the occasion. Several attendees had dressed up as characters from the movies and the robots C-3P0 and R2-D2 were also there.
Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) was also present at the ceremony. But the siblings of Fisher, who died of a heart attack in 2016 at age 60, were not there.
Lourd previously said in a statement that her aunts and uncles have been trying to monetize her mother’s death by giving interviews and writing books. “While they have every right to do as they please, their actions hurt me deeply at the most difficult time of my life.”
