In a 2014 interview with The Guardian, Fisher stated that she wanted to return as Leia after more than 30 years. Star Wars: The Force Awakens would be released the following year. But even before it was released, Fisher revealed a huge bombshell about her initial reaction to the script of the original film.
“I would have preferred to play Han Solo. When I first read the script, I thought this is the role to play, always weird and sardonic. He always is. I feel like Leia is either worried or angry, or, thank god, kind of snappy, most of the time. But I’m a lot more worried and angry than Han Solo ever was, and these aren’t fun things to play. “
