Cristiano Ronaldo and his lack of pressure have been discussed in England since the Portuguese’s return to Manchester United this summer. Something that should not be appreciated by the club’s new interim coach, Ralf Rangnick, is precisely the lack of press play.
The question has therefore been asked whether Rangnick will bench Ronaldo and that that was the reason why United started without the big star against Chelsea. The current coach, Michael Carrick, however, denies the speculation and says that Ronaldo’s lack of press play is just a “myth”.
– Maybe it’s a myth? That’s probably how it is, says Carrick at a press conference according to Sky Sports.
– He has played in enough teams over the years and has been successful in playing in a variety of ways. He has continued to score for every team he has played for and I am sure he will continue to score, no doubt about it.
Ronaldo, together with David De Gea in the goal, has been the club’s best performing player while the team has not functioned during the start of the season.
– Players adapt anyway. You have to have skills for different styles. Ralf has obviously maintained a fantastic level for a long time and had success with it. I am sure that the players are looking forward to the coming days and weeks, says Carrick.
Manchester United is in tenth place in the table ahead of Thursday night’s match against Arsenal, which is in fifth place.
