Carrefour has found 26 products whose weight has become smaller for the same price. Their manufacturers are the large concerns “Nestle”, “PepsiCo” and “Unilever”. “Nestle” baby milk mixture “Guigoz” dropped in weight from 900 to 830 grams, “Lipton” ice tea with peach flavor from 1.5 to 1.25 liters, “Unilever” ice cream “Viennetta” from 350 to 320 grams.
Similar tricks were also used by Latvian food producers during the crisis in 2008, which was followed by a national decision to indicate the price of the product per kilogram or liter.
