Carpi Hospital, Internal Medicine is Covid free. And in Mirandola reduced the number of beds dedicated to Coronavirus - SulPanaro

The Internal Medicine department of the Ramazzini Hospital in Carpi, continuously for 7 months in the Covid area, empties and reopens its doors to negative patients.

Last Friday the last virus-positive patient was transferred to Emergency Medicine – which is currently the only area dedicated to positive Covid in the Carpi hospital – and on Saturday the ward was sanitized, and then reopened yesterday, with the return to the original vocation, or rather internist hospitalizations. An additional 22 beds (additional to the 16 in Medicina2) are therefore available to Internal Medicine, directed by Dr. Adele Palomba, for the assistance of negative Covid patients suffering from internal diseases.

The result is the result of the recent remodeling of the hospital network, which takes into account the sharp decline in hospitalizations and the lower epidemiological pressure exerted by the virus in the Modena area in recent weeks.

The reorganization also includes news for the two Community Hospitals (OsCo) present in the Carpi District: that of Soliera has suspended the hospitalization of positive Covid, in view of the conversion to OsCo for negative patients scheduled for the beginning of June, while that of Novi suspends the activity, with a view to optimizing economic resources and staff.

Other reorganizations are underway in the other hospitals managed by the Modena Local Health Authority, with the progressive reduction of the number of beds dedicated to the Covid emergency, expanding the availability in favor of other assistance activities. At Santa Maria Bianca di Mirandola the availability of Covid beds has been reduced from 18 to 8.
