As expected, Caroline van der Plas will again be the leader of the BoerBurgerBeweging (BBB). That is what the party management says. Van der Plas is one of the founders of the party.
In 2021, BBB entered the House of Representatives with one seat under her leadership. It is expected that after the election there will be many more; in the latter Bearing pointer (a weighted average of various polls) BBB has more than twenty seats.
Van der Plas calls it “great” that she will be party leader again. “The Chamber work is the most beautiful work I have ever done.”
Premiership candidate?
Who the prime ministerial candidate for BBB is, the party is still in the middle. Van der Plas said earlier about that nothing for her would be. Now she says: “What the future brings, I will decide at a later date.”
The party will take another month and a half to compile the rest of the electoral list. At the beginning of September, the draft list will be presented to the members, who can then vote on it a few weeks later.
BBB says it has received more than 500 registrations from people who want to become Members of Parliament. The registration period has now closed.
In the last elections, for the Provincial Council, BBB became the largest in all provinces. The party will co-govern ten provinces in the coming years.
