Carolina Coronado Theater Presents Exciting Fall Programming Including Theater, Music, Animation, and Film Shows

The Councilor for Cultural Action and Promotion, Domingo Cruz, presented this morning the programming of the Carolina Coronado Theater for the last quarter of the year. About twenty theater, music, animation and film shows can be seen in Almendralejo until December.

After the opening with the concert by teachers of the VIII International Jazz Seminar (September 23), “La Cría” will be staged (September 28), by the local company “El Desván”, in co-production with the Junta de Extremadura . We will be able to see Alfonso Delgado, Paca Velardiez and Fernando Triviño on stage. It is a work of suspense, psychological horror and black humor that addresses the pathologies that can arise around parenting. Tickets are now on sale online at https://www.giglon.com/todos?idEvent=la-cria—el-desvan and starting Friday they can be purchased at the theater box office and at the Tourist Office.

María Adánez and Toni Acosta will be two of the national-class actresses who will step onto the stage of Carolina Coronado this fall. The first with “Ay, Carmela!”, on September 29; and the second together with Omar Ayuso in “The hidden sound”, on November 17.

Domingo Cruz has pointed out that the Department continues to count and give a voice to local companies. In this sense, on October 27 we will be able to see “Nothing or Nobody”, by the author Jesús Lozano and produced by María de Melo and Consorcio López de Ayala. In addition to the young actor Arturo Santos with “Vendados”, a text by Fermín Núñez and Sara Jiménez (November 10).

Other plays included in this extensive program are “Magallanes” (October 13); “Success assured” (November 2); or “What a big pain!” (December 1st). The mayor has highlighted the work “El Mar”, by Alberto Conejero, which we will have the opportunity to see on November 26, on the occasion of the presentation of the “Maraña” network of cultural managers, from the Provincial Council of Badajoz. Admission will be free. Cruz recalled that this work has been censored in some town hall as it is about a republican teacher who was shot.

“The cultural programming in Almendralejo must be regular, varied and of quality to generate cultural consumption habits so that residents know what is on at the theater every weekend,” the mayor insisted.

Music, Film and Animation

The Conservatory Concert Series also has different days reserved in the Carolina Coronado Theater programming (October 7 and November 22); as well as a concert by the Almendralejo Choir on October 28; and a film concert by the Emerita Augusta choir (November 3). The Municipal Music Band will perform on November 24, and tribute will be paid to its director, Narciso González, for his 25 years at the head of this group. It will be at 8:30 p.m. with free entry.

The Extremadura Film Library will screen different sessions, for the second consecutive year, on October 19, November 30 and December 14, with titles yet to be determined.

The second edition of the Film and Animation Festival returns to Almendralejo on October 20 and the theater will be one of its meeting points. All screenings will be free entry until capacity is reached. The FPS Festival is a meeting aimed at professionals in the animation and video game industry and also at those who see this sector as their future, including fans who want to learn more about these cultural and creative industries.
