“Carnival Youth” announces the Latvian film music concert series “Naive Ku-ku”

The concert program will consist of the brightest pearls of soundtracks that have become both classics and the latest films – from the masterpieces of Imants Kalniņš and the immortal anthems of Raimonds Pauls to the works of contemporary musicians.

“When we had the opportunity to play our version of” Cuckoo’s Voice “in person a couple of years ago, we were amazed at how well it resonated today. The idea arose to study Latvian cinema in depth and bring to light songs that the younger generations have never “But these concerts will be a journey through time, which will bring the past together with a modern sound,” says Edgar Kaupers.

The work on the rifleman’s song “Rītprūsija”, which is included in the accompanying music album “Souls of Souls”, also served as an incentive to create this program, but in the center of “Naive ku-ku” there will be a Latvian film canon, such as “Gift for a Lonely Woman”, “Ceplis” , “Sonata of the Lake”, “Emils’ Works” and “Spriditis”. The concerts will be complemented by video clips and appropriate retro aesthetics.
