A cruise ship belonging to the international company Carnival Cruise Line, based in El Doral, Florida, rescued this weekend 27 Cuban rafters who were adrift at sea.

The events occurred around 2:30 pm on Sunday, April 21, when bridge personnel aboard the Carnival Paradise managed to spot the drifting vessel and notified the captain, who ordered the cruise ship to turn around to rescue them.

After being taken on board, the Cubans received food and water. These were also examined by doctors on board the luxury cruise ship, who determined that they were in good health.

Recordings of the rescue were shared on social networks, and show the exact moment in which the rescue boat returns with the almost 30 Cubans on board.

After ensuring that the Cubans were safe and sound, the cruise ship crew notified the authorities of the Key West Sector of the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and the authorities of Roatan.
