“Carnival brings joy to hospitalized children in Nancy for over 30 years”

Each year, on the occasion of the attractive fairTHE fairground go to CHRU de Nancy where they meet the hospitalized children.

Sweets, cuddly toys, gifts… For the space of a day, little patients forget the difficulties of everyday life.

Honored for thirty years now, this meeting is the work of Therese Vallonnea carnival known for her big heart in Nancy.

Thérèse Vallonne’s granddaughter affected by acute leukemia

A little over thirty years ago, Thérèse Vallonne learned terrible news: her little girlElisabeth, suffers from acute leukemia.

Like all other children her age, the little girl asks her grandmother if she can go to the fair. However, her state of health does not allow her and Thérèse Vallonne cannot answer her positively.

Saddened, the lady with the big heart then has a idea : if her granddaughter cannot go to the fair, the fair will come to her. This is how the day of solidarity was born. Day which continued to be celebrated despite the death of Elisabeth, at the age of 7, and which is still celebrated after the disappearancein 2004, by Thérèse Vallonne.
