Chelsea attacker Carney Chukwuemeka will be out for up to six weeks after the knee injury he sustained in Sunday’s defeat against West Ham United.
Chukwuemeka, by which Chelsea paid 24 million euros to Aston Villa, was injured in the final stretch of the first partafter scoring the equalizer against West Ham.
The player left the stadium on crutches, but the injury was not as serious as could be expected and after undergoing knee surgery he will be out for up to six weeks.
“Is a bittersweet feeling scoring my first goal for Chelsea but getting injured and not being able to take the three points. This is a little relapse, but I’ll be back soon.“said the attacker, who started Chelsea’s first two games, in a statement.
