“I don’t think there will be the race to become super maximalists in Lombardy, a solution identified to make up for the serious shortage. Getting to 1800 patients per general practitioner on a voluntary basis compared to the current 1500 is a difficult goal “.
This was stated by the honorable member of the Democratic Party from Bergamo Elena Carnevali: “It is already difficult these days to do and follow one’s clients well, however it remains an opportunity. The fundamental basis is the national and regional investment of medical education. However, I remain convinced that we must also try another path. That allows trainees to be able to reach up to 800 assisted instead of the current 650. We need to make it more attractive for trainees to be replaced and to enter the health system not as a spare. This rule that I had proposed as an amendment in the “dl August” has not passed but in the Budget Law I will return hard to the office. After having managed to extend until the end of 2021 the compatibility between the remuneration of the scholarship undergoing training for general practitioners and the “capital quota” of 600 patients, we must now intelligently increase the number. To these professionals the activity is recognized for training purposes and they must have the time to dedicate to it “.
“But they rightly need to be recognized also on a remunerative level – concludes Carnevali -. The minister had already given a positive opinion. Now I hope to no longer find obstacles of a political nature. Lombardy in particular needs it but many other Italian territories and above all citizens need it. For many Lombards there is often only the medical guard but in this way the local medicine cannot work ”.
