Carmona, the man who gave color to Esquel’s photos

In this way, the residents of the place used to see a police cell phone or a taxi that came to look for it and it became the “Pasaje Carmona” in popular use. That use was one of the foundations that was taken into account to impose the name.

Carmona arrived in Esquel on the train when he was three years old. He was born in the city of Buenos Aires and his family chose to come to Esquel where other siblings were later born.

Here he formed his family and developed his passion. He inherited a love for photography from his father and made it his way of life. And through it he witnessed different key moments in history.toria de Esquel and the area, including the registration of images from the first National Ski Festival or the process of creating the Futaleufú dam. His work was also reflected in the media, for example the newspapers El Oeste and El Chubut.

He always thought of adding something else to his work and together with his father they were pioneers in having the first color photography laboratory in the city of Esquel.

Today his family remembers him with love and pride and this Friday he accompanied the moment of the nomination in the Deliberative Council of the city.
