Carmen Urías, new head of the Social Communications office at the INE

The president of the National Electoral Institute (INE), Guadalupe Taddei, appointed Carmen Urias Palma as Head of the National Coordination of Social Communication Office.

The area, along with eight others of the Executive General Board, including the Executive Secretariat, the second command post in the INE, remain with office managers.

They have been in this position for just over a year because the necessary votes have not been obtained in the general council to support Taddei’s proposed appointments.

For now, with the appointment of Urías, the Transparency Unit is temporarily without a manager.

The new person in charge of Social Communication is She holds a degree in Law and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Autonomous University of Chihuahua; she has a specialty in Political Communication and Strategic Governance from George Washington University.

The résumé released by the INE states that the official is a specialist in institutional political communication, electoral law, and digital dialogue, “in addition to having training in crisis management and lie detection through micro expressions.”

On her X account, she thanked the president of the council for the invitation and commented: “Dreams come true if you work for them.”
