Carmelo Gómez Honored at Villena’s Teatro Chapí

Villena

The mayor of the City, Fulgencio Cerdán, together with the councilors of culture and Finance, took advantage of the conclusion of the play that was being staged this Saturday in the Chapí “The War of Our Ancestors”, to invite the veteran actor Carmelo Gómez to sign in Villena’s honor book and put his name on one of the seats.

Carmelo Gómez joins artists of the stature of Ana Belén, Juan Diego Botto or Carmen Linares in having a labeled chair. This symbolic gesture began in Villena a few years ago, although if he had done it with its last reopening in 1999, or since the same construction in the 1920s, practically all the seats would have a name for history.

Teatro Chapí, in addition to being an “unparalleled setting” for any cultural event that takes place within it, whether professional or amateur shows, and which is why it is the theater not only of Villena but of many towns in the region and the surrounding area, continues with this line of recognitions, waiting for the next one, which will come in due time
