If your dad is a professional footballer: Carlos Thier (18) reveals many secrets

“Roberto Firmino is very, very down to earth and also very grateful to my father – he shows his gratitude. Roberto is still a great friend of the family to this day,” says Carlos. His father – that’s Ceasr Thier. The 53-year-old native of Brazil once played for Borussia Fulda and Kickers Offenbach, among others.
Today the former goalkeeper is in the team management of Bundesliga soccer club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and has been looking after the Brazilians in the Kraichgauer team for years. Firmino played there for five years from 2010 to 2015 before moving to Liverpool for the transfer fee of 41 million euros. They know each other from that time.
“Many good times in Offenbach”
Carlos also remembers exactly his father’s games on the Bieberer Berg. “I can remember my father’s farewell game. The whole family was there and it was a sad moment for us because we had a lot of good times in Offenbach. I was still very young, but I still remember it.” says Carlos, now 18 years old. He lives with his family in Sinsheim and plays for FC Zuzenhausen. The Thiers have a close connection to the East Hesse region. His mother Ulrike comes from Oberjossa, a district of Breitenbach am Herzberg (Hersfeld-Rotenburg district). They often visit there. One or two players – including Roberto Firmino – were there with the Hohmeiers, the parents of Ulrike and Carlos’ grandparents.
