In the weekend that saw the drivers competing for the World Championship race on the controversial route in Jeddah, it happened that they lost the pole by just 25 thousandths and had the title snatched from a gigantic red bull, very fast. However, Ferrari is there and enthuses the fans in a way that hasn’t happened for some time.
Carlos Sainz’s controversy with the FIA
We were talking about a phrase that alludes to certain decisions that are not exactly shared. Carlos Sainzthird on the podium, was the protagonist of an episode coming out of the pit stop after the first somewhat controversial safety car.
In fact, the pilot came out just behind sergio perez, who did not give him the right of way, having the Spaniard first crossed the line out of the pit lane. The Mexican therefore returned the position to the Ferrari driver, but only at the resumption of the race and not under the safety car:

These are things concerning Formula 1 that we still have to fix ”, the driver’s words addressed to the FIA.
The incriminated episode disputed by Sainz and Binotto
“After the Vitual Safety Car the Red Bulls managed to find a better pace by cooling the tires and put a lot of pressure on us. There they were a bit faster than us: it was a tight race, and it is these details that make the difference. Of course they were much faster in the straights and we were faster in the corners. Maybe we need to find a better balance, because when it’s time to fight in the race we see that they have a small advantage ”.
A controversy that does not cloud, however, the performance of the new single-seater designed by the Maranello team and which the Ferrari boss has developed. Mattia Binotto, who pointed out what happened in the same way. At the second race of the 2022 World Cup, Sainz it was felt to reaffirm the growth and progression of the new Ferrari and to challenge Verstappen:
“This race was an advance over Bahrain. We still have tenths to find, I’ll get there. After the safety car, Red Bull found more pace and there they were perhaps faster than us. For sure they were faster in the straights and we were faster in the corners ”, his brief analysis.
Sainz under investigation by the FIA
