The Yankees made their impact by agreeing to a six-year, $162 million contract with lefty Carlos Rodón, according to a report by MLB Network correspondent Jon Heyman.
Rodón is coming off All-Star Game nomination for the second straight season and went 14-8 with a 2.88 ERA in 178 innings for the Giants in 2022.
Rodón, who turns 30 on December 10, joined the San Francisco club on a two-year, $44million deal last winter, though the deal included a one-season opt-out clause if he pitched at least 110 episodes this year.
In eight seasons with the White Sox and Giants, Rodón is 56-46 in 152 starts (147 starts) with 947 fans in 847.1 innings. Lui pitched the 20th no-hitter in Pale Sooth history against Cleveland on April 21, 2021, falling short of a perfect game after hitting Roberto Pérez with one out in the ninth inning.
