Carlos ‘La Roca’ Sánchez was the emblem of the José Pékerman era in the Colombian National Team and participated in the last two World Cups in which the national team participated, Brazil 2014 and Russia 2018.
It was after the last World Cup event that little or nothing was heard from the midfielder who in the last three years only played 13 games for West Ham in England, suffered a complicated injury to his ligaments and finally left the club free.
In the last 6 months, he was only heard from videos on his social networks in which he goes out training, but, this Wednesday, in an interview with Semana TV, ‘La Roca’ broke the silence and explained everything.
Why haven’t you played in the last 6 months?
“Currently I am in Spain, with my family. In this last semester I made the decision to be with the family for a family issue that today is solved thanks to God. I had options of other places, but for this issue I decided to stay in Spain.
How is it in the physical part?
“Today I am well, it was a ligament injury that I already had since my stay in France. Today I am fully recovered, I am training and I like to stay physically fit.”

Where will you play this year?
“I have the possibility of Turkey, China and Arabia, but I am evaluating, I do not have a final destination yet, I am listening to make the decision.”
Was it true that only the signature was missing for him to reach Atlético Nacional?
Yes, communication was achieved with them, but other decisions were made because of the clubs. Similarly, there was another important club in Colombia that called me, but I don’t know what happened, things didn’t work out. I had chances and finally nothing came to fruition. I hope that at some point the possibility will arise since it is a subject that I have pending since as everyone knows I never played in Colombia.
