Viewers of the ultimate survival program have noticed that the two judokas all have red bumps on their faces. These are not mosquito bites, but turn out to be the work of sand fleas that can cause violently itchy and painful hives. “Edith and I slept on the beach and got a lot of sand fleas,” Carlos makes clear via his Instagram. ‘Super stupid of course, but we simply didn’t have enough materials to build a decent bed.’
