Journalist Carlos Ferrando, one of the pioneers of the gossip press in Spain, has died at the age of 76 in Madrid, according to friends and colleagues confirmed on the social network X.
The popular columnist had been retired from the profession for some time, although he made occasional contributions.
Ferrando, who had worked in practically all the media outlets dedicated to social reporting, had become especially popular for his participation in ‘Crónicas marcianas’, but before that he had written for numerous magazines and had been responsible for the press for actresses and singers.
In addition, Carlos Ferrando, who used ironic and biting language in his chronicles, had collaborated on ‘Qué tiempo tan feliz’ and on some ‘Sálvame’ programmes, among other spaces.
Her friend Alejandra Grepi has expressed her “feelings” for the “loss” of her “friend” in a message posted on Instagram accompanied by a recent photo together.
“Dear friend, I could not imagine that three days after this photo I would not see you again, so many years, memories, trips, laughter, tears, confidences, parties, frivolous and deep conversations, confessions, tenderness, complicity,” Grepi emphasizes.
Television presenter César Heinrich also mourned her death: “I have to say goodbye to you and I haven’t posted it yet. I think that at any moment you’re going to call me to tell me what you saw on TV,” he said on his Instagram account.
He also highlighted his career in gossip journalism. “That press that you created, being the first to write as you spoke, to speak on the radio as you thought and to say on TV the things that many would have liked to be able to say today,” added Heinrich.
“Something leaves me with you, Carlos. 18 years ago you came into our lives to stay, but time has run out and now I am only reassured by knowing how satisfied you were with everything you have experienced,” another of his friends, Álex Gutiérrez, expressed on the same social network.
