Carlos Darwin Quintero: New Deportivo Pereira Player for the 2024 BetPlay I League

There is just over a month left until the 2024 BetPlay I League starts and with the firm intention of celebrating a new star, the clubs in the first division of Colombian soccer are working to strengthen their payrolls.

This weekend it was confirmed, for example, that the experienced Carlos Darwin Quintero will return to Deportivo Pereira after 15 seasons. The winger from Nariña had just played for América de Cali, where he started out as a key player, but lost continuity in recent weeks.

Deportivo Cali also acquired the services of a player with considerable experience, which this Saturday announced the arrival of Alexander Mejía, who arrived as a free agent after ending his relationship with Unión Magdalena.

The sugar team’s backyard rival, América, has not confirmed any signings but did announce that Diego Novoa, Daniel Quiñones, Facundo Suárez, Carlos Darwin Quintero and Daniel Mosquera left the scarlet institution. The Argentine Nicolás Benegas and Harold Rivera sound for the Red Devils.

One of the main rivals of the purslane team, Millonarios, has not officially announced any signings. There are strong rumors that link goalkeeper Diego Novoa with the ambassador institution.

There are also strong chances that full-back Delvin Alfonzo will sign with the blue team. Another option in his position is Yerson Candelo, also wanted by Junior, who has just played a semester in soccer in Ecuador.

Independiente Santa Fe had a very busy end of the year regarding its payroll, as at least 16 players left the team, among them the Argentine Fabián Sambueza, who in the coming days will be a new player for Atlético Bucaramanga.

The current Junior champion is already thinking about defending the title and to achieve that goal he trusts Roberto Hinojosa and Fabián Cantillo. Both come from being protagonists in Unión Magdalena, a club that will compete in the BetPlay Tournament next year.
