It is not the first time that great figures from the world of tennis assure that Carlos Alcaraz’s style is a mixture of Rafa Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer, but just as the Serbian did after losing the Wimbledon final, he had not seen to date.
The world number 2, who saw how the tennis player from El Palmar recovered after losing 6-1 in the first set, assured without hesitation that “he has the best of the three”.
“His game consists of a mix of certain elements from Roger, Rafa and mine. I agree with that. He has the best of all three worlds,” he started.
Next, he wrote down what he sees similar in each one. “He has great mental resilience and great maturity for someone who is 20 years old. It’s impressive,” Federer explained in code.
Regarding Nadal, he highlighted his “spirit”: “He has that mentality of a Spanish bull and that competitiveness and fighting spirit that we have seen in Rafa for so many years.”
And speaking of himself, Djokovic pointed out what he sees as similar: “He has backhands sliding around and some similarities to my punches.”
To settle, and already as a supreme compliment, the Serbian affirmed that he has been his best rival over Rafa and Roger.
“I have never played against a tennis player like him in my career. Roger and Rafa have their own strengths and weaknesses. Carlos is very complete,” he settled.
