Beppe Menegatti, husband of Carla Fracci, tells the last moments together with the dancer and great love of his life. On May 27, Fracci died, leaving a huge void in the world of dance, but above all in the existence of those who loved her immensely: the theater director Beppe Menegatti and his son Francesco, fruit of their union.
Beppe and Carla they met in 1954. A love at first sight that led the director to leave his girlfriend at the time for the dancer. Then the wedding, in 1964, and the birth of son Francesco five years later.
During International Dance Festival 2021, Beppe recalled the love for Carla Fracci, recounting the last moments by his side. “The roads of luck are endless – he explained -. And I had a wonderful path to go down with this extraordinary woman who was Carla. Carla was not only a symbol of dance, but she was a real important force always in favor of people who have less, who need. And unfortunately it left a little earlier than one might think. For everyone it was a surprise, especially for the family, but also for the whole world, for all the actors. It happened with extraordinary speed ”.
Menegatti did not hide his emotion in remembering Carla and revealed that the dancer died peacefully in the arms of her beloved son Francesco. “I have to say one thing, that Carla died giving great sighs and died because she recognized that she was in the arms of her son, Francesco – he confided -. And when he left us, she had this precise presence of a definitively unresolved woman who left her life in her son’s arms. This was a very bitter and sweet moment together, and may God bless them ”.
Reserved, always smiling and elegant, Carla Fracci she was a great artist, but above all an extraordinary woman. Her talent has made her famous all over the world and has consigned her memory to the history of dance, while her humility and class have made her loved by many people who certainly will not forget her.
