Actor Carl Weathers is dead.
His family confirms it.
“I will miss him,” says Swedish star Dolph Lundgren in a statement.
The actor Carl Weathers is known for, among other things, the role of Apollo Creed in the “Rocky” films.
According to the family, he must have died in his sleep on Thursday, write Deadline. He lived to be 76 years old.
“Carl was an exceptional person who lived an extraordinary life,” the family wrote in a statement and continued:
“He was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, partner and friend.”

Appeared in over 75 films
The family also says that Carl “left an indelible mark” through his contributions to film and television.
Carl Weathers has appeared in over 75 films and series during his 50 years in the industry.
He was in nine episodes of the Star Wars series “The Mandalorian”, for which he was also nominated for an Emmy. And he did the voice of Combat Carl in “Toy Story 4”.

Also the Swedish star Dolph Lundgrenwho played Ivan Drago in “Rocky IV” opposite Carl Weathers and Stallone, spoke out during the night, People reports:
“I was sad when I heard the news. Like the rest of the world, I will miss Carl. He was a great actor, a great athlete and a good friend.”
