“Caritas Internationalis”, an international coordinating organization of Catholic sub-activities, appeals to Israel and the Palestinian political-paramilitary-Islamic terrorist organization Hamas to cease fire, guarantee protection and humanitarian aid to the population in compliance with international law, and release hostages.
This request of the Caritas organization is in the context of the ongoing armed conflict that started on October 7, taking thousands of lives and causing massive damage.
Alistair Dutton, general manager of Caritas International, said that all human life is sacred and no life can be discarded. “Caritas Internationalis” reiterates its call to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches the 2.3 million people in Gaza, who have been under siege for almost a month and are without access to water, food, medicine and fuel, and to reopen all routes to Gaza for the delivery of humanitarian aid.
The organization reminds that all people in the Holy Land have the right to receive humanitarian assistance and that parties to the conflict fulfill their duty to ensure this. “Caritas Internationalis”, which says that the time has come for peace to be established, expresses its solidarity with all religious communities in praying for peace, mutual understanding, reconciliation and a sustainable future in the Holy Land and throughout the Middle East.
