Cáritas Diocesana de Zamora joins the World Day for Decent Workwhich is celebrated on Saturday, day October 7under the motto “A Decent Work has to be a Healthy Work.” The objective is to raise awareness, make visible and denounce an essential issue for the lives of millions of people: human work and demand decent work. “towards the interior of these organizations, towards the Church in general and towards society.”
The students of the courses that Cáritas Diocesana de Zamora keeps active and, also, the workers of the entity will carry out the reading of the manifesto tomorrow, October 6, at 12:00 p.m. in the Plaza de Viriato as an act of awareness.
CLAIMS
The organizations of the Church for Decent Work, which are: Cáritas, Confer, HOAC, Justice and Peace, Catholic Student Youth and Christian Worker Youth, focus on the precarious situation suffered by many working people as the causes of the increase in accidents.
The Manifesto denounces the lack of safety in the workplace It is “especially worrying in feminized jobs” (cleaning, care, nursing…), since, “There are numerous cases of skeletal-muscular loads, as well as mental health problems.”
Likewise, it asks institutions and Administrations for a commitment to promoting decent work that avoids exclusion and precariousness and presents some data related to accidents at work.

SOME DATA FROM CÁRITAS ZAMORA REGARDING EMPLOYMENT
The Employment and Partner Economy Area of Cáritas Diocesana de Zamora promotes the socio-labor insertion of people in vulnerable situations, through integrated and personalized itineraries that include reception, orientation, training and job intermediation.
From the Employment and Social Economy Area of Cáritas Diocesana de Zamora, it is observed that situations of vulnerability affect people with a low educational level to a greater extent. For this reason, and betting on training as a fundamental pillar in job placement, Cáritas has carried out, so far this year, 15 training actions, in which a total of 217 people have participated. These courses are taught at the local and provincial level with non-working professional internships in companies. The theme is variedattending after market prospecting, to the professional sectors that can generate employment: Certificate of Professionalism of Socio-Health Care for Dependent Persons in Social Institutions, Certificate of Professionalism in Dynamizing Children’s and Youth Educational Free Time Activities, and as a Free Time Monitor, Temporary Work at Height, Renewable Energy (for the installation of photovoltaic panels), Manicure and Facial Care or Machinery (Backhoe, Forklift, Pallet Truck and Platform Lift). All of them have been possible thanks to the entity’s own financing and the help of external financiers such as the European Social Fund, the Regional Government of Castilla y León, Inditex or the Iberdrola Foundation.
Workshops on Job Search Techniques and Improving Employability or Improving Digital Skills are also taught.
