On the morning of Wednesday, December 21, the appointment of Jesús Casares as the new director of Cáritas Diocesana de Getafewho replaces Enrique Carrero in office.
Aurelio Carrasquilla, Vicar of Charity of the diocese, has been in charge of notifying the decision taken by the episcopal council chaired by the Bishop of the Diocese of Getafe, Don Ginés García.
Two years ago Carrero announced that it was time to embark on a new stage in the church organization and that someone else should be the one to lead it. Since then he has been working on creating a new organizational chart and looking for a replacement.
As a result of this new organization, in February 2022, two new divisions were created, represented by Julio Sánchez Salvador, as deputy director of People Management and Development; and Jesús Casares Ruíz, as Deputy Director of Administrative Management.
This experience and knowledge in the management of Cáritas Diocesana de Getafehas caused the bishop to appoint Casares as the new director of the ecclesial organization.

Jesus Casares will take possession as the new director of Cáritas Diocesana de Getafe on February 1, 2023.
The vicar of Charity wanted to thank him for accepting the bishop’s proposal as voluntary.
The new director wanted to thank Don Ginés and the Vicar of Charity for their trust in him and the mission of working for the most needy in the diocese.
In addition, Casares recognized Enrique Carrero for his great work and told him that he hoped to be at his level.
From the beginning it put at the service of the Cáritas family and the most vulnerable south of the Community of Madrid.
Almost a year in Cáritas Diocesana de Getafe
Born in Getafe 65 years ago, the town where he lives and to which he is closely linked both in his professional and personal life.
Jesús is married and is a telecommunications engineer. He is early retired, but he has developed his professional life for 36 years in Aeronautical Constructions, currently AIRBUS.
Since February he has been a member of the board of directors of Cáritas Diocesana de Getafe and since 2012 he has been a Trustee of the Fundación Hospital de San José de Getafe. He participates in the organization of the Emmaus retreats in the parish of Santa María Magdalena de Getafe.
Eleven years at the service of the most vulnerable
Enrique Carrero He was appointed director of Cáritas in the south of Madrid in 2011by the then Bishop of the Diocese of Getafe Mr. Joaquín María López de Andújar.
He began as a volunteer at the Santo Cristo de la Misericordia Parish Caritas in Boadilla del Monte, later he was appointed director of the diocesan organization and, years later, vice president of Cáritas Española, a position he will continue to hold.
Throughout these eleven years as director, Enrique Carrero has discovered that his true vocation was to “serve others”.
The Vicar of Charity wanted to thank him for his great work over the years “Enrique found himself a small Caritas, with big problems and indebted” and leaves a consolidated Caritas, with a large headquarters, a group of committed workers and many projects.
For his part, Enrique wanted to thank the workers, donors and volunteers for their great support and collaboration, “I carry many things in my heart, but one of the most important is you.”
He encouraged the new director to continue growing and to trust in God “because it will be He who will take you and correct you.”
Two new subdirections to continue advancing
Aurelio Carrasquilla also announced the appointment of two new deputy directors. Maria Isabel Garcia Martin as deputy director of projects and social action and, Cesar Garcia Hoya as deputy director of communication and new technologies.
Isabel could not be present at the ceremony, but César wanted to thank the trust placed in him in this mission entrusted to him, in which he hopes to collaborate with God’s help.

María Isabel García is 54 years old, married and has two daughters
She is administrative, and has worked in the judicial and health fields. She has always been linked to the parish environment, through youth groups.
She has been collaborating as a volunteer in the Parish Caritas of Corpus Cristi of Leganés for twelve years. He has been archpriestal representative in the pepinero municipality, belongs to the diocesan council and the Synod commission.
Cesar Garcia
César is 62 years old, married, has four children and lives in Pozuelo de Alarcón. He is the son of a missionary couple and has seven siblings.
He is early retired, and has worked as a computer analyst on large projects for El Corte Inglés and IBM.
He has collaborated in the organization of the Emmaus retreats, both in the parish of Santo Cristo de la Misericordia in Boadilla, and in those of the parish of Santa María Magdalena in Getafe, to help other people who need it to know God.
He is a Caritas volunteer. in the Tomas Moro de Majadahonda parish, in the special cases group.
