Caritas Diocesana de Cádiz Celebrates Charity Days 2023: Reflection, Community Prayer, and Fraternal Sharing

Caritas, June 17, 2023.- Cáritas Diocesana de Cádiz has celebrated, on the occasion of the celebration of Corpus Christi, its Days of Charity 2023. This activity has been carried out throughout the diocesan territory around Sunday, June 11, the feast of Corpus Christi. In this way, the volunteering of the parishes of the archpriestships of Chiclana de la Frontera, San Fernando, Cádiz, Algeciras, Puerto Real, Medina Sidonia, La Línea de la Concepción and Vejer de la Fronterahave met and reflected on the awareness raising materials of the Charity Day campaign “You have a lot to do”, they have celebrated liturgical acts (eucharist, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, community prayers…) and have had a space for meeting and fraternal sharing. This edition of the Days of Charity has had a very emotional character as it is the first to be held after the restrictions of the COVID19 pandemic that forced the suspension of face-to-face activities.

Together with the volunteers, priests and technicians from Cáritas Diocesana, they have animated these days, favoring the meeting and the relationship between the agents of Cáritas. In all the activities that have been carried out, there has been a common feeling of joy at being able to recover face-to-face activities that are so important for volunteering.

As a common activity for all Charity Days, attendees have been photographed making the gesture of the campaign that consists of placing a hand over one eye, enhancing the act of looking at the other and, also, the reality that surrounds us.
