The Carinthia State Police Directorate said on Saturday night that he was found trapped under a tree by relatives in his wooded area. The alerted fire department cut up the tree and removed it so that the man could be cared for. The emergency doctor in the rescue helicopter was only able to determine death.
The man had been busy cutting wood in the forest from 12 p.m. When his son came home in the evening and didn’t find his father there, he and other relatives went looking for him, the police said. He was found right next to his tractor, whose engine was still running at the time. There was no further information about the cause of the accident.
