The National Youth Singing takes place from June 26th to 29th, 2023 in the Klagenfurt Concert Hall. Since 2020, the Austrian National Youth Singing has had to be repeatedly postponed due to the pandemic. “I am therefore all the more pleased that we can finally welcome around 1,200 young singers and choirmasters to Carinthia for four days.

The federal youth singing with a long tradition that goes back to 1948 is a great opportunity for young talents to present their skills to a broad audience,” says youth state councilor Sara Schaar, who emphasizes that those who are interested can enter the concert hall or live with free admission -Stream online (jugend.ktn.gv.at) can be there.

Five Carinthian choirs will be there

For Carinthia, the five choirs that were particularly successful at the state youth singing at the end of April, namely: the full choir of the 2 AB of the music MS Seeboden, “Angelic Voices” (choir of the 3rd and 4th classes of the RG/ORG St . Ursula), the youth choir JAMzi, the youth choir Tanzenberg (upper school ensemble) and the choir of the 3 ABC of the Alpen-Adria-Gymnasium Völkermarkt.

The federal youth singing is carried out as a joint event of the state of Carinthia and the Federal Chancellery (youth policy). The costs are borne by the Federal Chancellery, the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research and the state of Carinthia as the organizing federal state.
