The man wanted to rescue a young cat that had fallen into a silo on a farm in Wolfsberg around 9 a.m. However, the man himself fell about seven meters deep and was so seriously injured that he died at the scene of the accident, the police said in a release.
The old farmer’s wife, who wanted to help rescue the man, found the man and immediately alerted the emergency services. The crew of an emergency medical helicopter, two volunteer fire departments and a crisis intervention team were on duty.
