Starting signal for the course “Political Education” 2022/23 on October 21st. Interested women can register until September 29th. The initiative aims to increase the proportion of women at all political levels.
KLAGENFURT. The renowned course “Political Education” for women will be held again on October 21st. The course is divided into six modules and covers topics ranging from politics at municipal to EU level, financial and legal framework conditions, equality strategies and democratic participation processes to media and public relations work In addition to the theoretical content, theme evenings are offered for networking and discussion. As part of the course, an excursion to the Carinthian state parliament is also offered. “We women have to have a say if we want to create sustainable framework conditions for actual equality. It’s about ours future and that of future generations,” says Sara Schaar, State Councilor for Women.
Renowned speakers
The renowned speakers include the political scientist and legal scholar Kathrin Stainer-Hämmerle, legal scholar Doris Hattenberger and the political and media consultant Peter Plaikner. Christa Zöchling, profile journalist and Concordia prizewinner, is a new speaker. Parallel to the course, each participant is offered three coaching hours for professional and personal development. “With the course, as well as with all other measures of the department for women and equality, we want to encourage women to recognize and develop their potential and thus make conscious life decisions,” says state women’s representative Martina Gabriel.
