GAYABEKASI.ID l NORTH NUNUKAN – In an effort to improve children’s health and public awareness of parotitis prevention, Yonarmed Task Force 11 Kostrad Pamtas Pos Sei Kaca together with Posyandu Rinjani Cadres conducted health service and counseling activities for children in Sei Bolong Village, Nunukan District a North, Sunday (27/10/2024).
This activity aims to provide health services to children as well as to educate the public about the importance of parotitis prevention, or what is known as mumps.
This disease often attacks children, especially those who have not been properly vaccinated, and can cause serious problems if not treated properly.
During the operation, the health team performs detailed health checks on children, making sure that they are growing healthy and that possible signs of parotitis are monitored. In addition, Posyandu Rinjani officials also provide parents with information about the causes, symptoms and ways to prevent parotitis.
Said Dansatgas Pamtas Yonarmed 11 Kostrad, Lt Col. Army Gde Adhy Surya Mahendra that this program is part of the commitment of Pamtas Yonarmed Task Force 11 Kostrad to support public health in
border areas, especially for children. “Children’s health is our priority. “With this activity, we hope that people will become more aware of the importance of preventing disease through vaccination and maintaining a clean lifestyle,” he said.
The local community welcomed this activity, as can be seen from the enthusiasm of parents who brought their children to be examined. One of the residents, Mrs. Rina, expressed her gratitude. “We were really helped by this study and counseling. “So we understand more about the risks of parotitis and how to prevent it,”
With this activity, it is hoped that public awareness of the importance of disease prevention in children will increase, so that the health of children under the age of five in Sei Bolong Town and its surroundings can be maintained. (Army 11)
