Carina Demarchi will present the exhibition “My life in art” – Diario El Debate Pregón

On Friday, August 9, at 9 p.m., at the Casa de la Cultura “Museo Quirós”, the presentation of the first individual exhibition of Mrs. Carina Demarchi will take place. Her love for the pencil and the brush has accompanied her throughout her life and she has timidly appeared in different cultural circles with her works.

The presentation of Carina’s exhibition, called “My life in art”, will be led by Francisco “Panchi” Cosso and the cultural evening will also feature the musical participation of Héctor “Turco” Ahibe and Francisco Olivera.

In dialogue with SEGUNDA SECCIÓN, the speaker told us the following:

Since when can you say that your life is linked to art?

Carina Demarchi: I have always liked drawing since I was a child. I took my first steps in art by attending the children’s workshop that was held at the School of Visual Arts, when it operated on 25 de Mayo Street in this city. Afterwards, I continued taking courses and workshops to perfect my knowledge until today, when I continue learning.

Did anyone in your family or ancestors like or make art?

Carina Demarchi: My dad always loved to draw and my youngest daughter really enjoys it too.

How much of your life do you dedicate, for example, to the realization of this exhibition?

Carina Demarchi: Art has accompanied my life, first as a student and then with my work activity, but always as a hobby in my free time.

The exhibition includes works that I have done from approximately 20 years ago to the present.

What will we find when the doors of the House of Culture open on Friday, August 9?

Carina Demarchi: On August 9th there will be a pictorial and musical encounter. 39 of my works will be exhibited, drawings in graphite pencil, sanguine, sepia, oils and some watercolors.

You will find figurative works, partly traditional because I like to reflect in them places of the region, animals, country people and some portraits of people I have known throughout my life.

The presentation will be given by Panchi Cosso and there are guest artists who will sing some songs, such as Héctor Ahibe and Francisco Olivera.

Although I have participated in many art exhibitions, both in and outside the city, this is the first time I have done a solo art exhibition. It consists of 39 works that I have selected and that have taken a lot of time and money.

What does this exhibition mean to you and to whom do you wish to thank?

Carina Demarchi: My thanks go first to the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Gualeguay, for giving me the space to do it and taking care of every detail, to my family and friends who are always supporting me and encouraging me to continue; to Raquel Cardoso, with the framing of the works; to “Panchi” Cosso, Héctor Ahibe and Francisco Olivera, who collaborated with the presentation and music.

What is that place like, that corner of your house where the works are carried out, is there any particular detail that you like?

Carina Demarchi: My house is a bit invaded by art. In the living room I have a little place where I work with mate, music, and a room full of works.

In general terms: How do you see the cultural sphere in our city?

Carina Demarchi: The Department of Culture is very active, organizing events in different disciplines and promoting local art.

An example of this is on August 13, when I am going to the National Congress (CABA) to exhibit three of my own works alongside other local artists and the local Music School, a unique opportunity, for which I am very grateful.

Why should you go see “My Life in Art”?

Carina Demarchi: You have to go see “My Life in Art” because I would love to share my works with the public. Although I have participated in group exhibitions, this is the first time I have exhibited 39 of my own paintings, in different materials.
