The fire brigade of Hollands-Midden reports this on Twitter. A cargo ship sailed over a sloop at Het Buitenwater, a quay along the Rhine.
It is unclear exactly how the incident happened. According to Ton Koot of the Hollands-Midden Fire Department, an inland vessel and a rowing boat ‘collided with each other in one way or another’. “As a result, the rowing boat sank and it is now on the bottom.”
Seven people, the crew members of the rowing boat, ended up in the water. “All persons are now on the side. Four on the Oegstgeest side and three on the Valkenburg side. ” One person on board could not get out of the water on his own and became ‘unwell’. “That person was resuscitated and transported to hospital by ambulance,” says Koot. “It is not known how this person is now.”
According to the fire service spokesperson, an investigation is still being carried out by the National Unit of the police. “He will see if there are criminal cases. But for now it is still very unclear what exactly happened. ”
