In the week of 9 to 13 November, Careyn organizes a special flu vaccination bus tour. Due to corona measures, employees and volunteers cannot go to care locations to get their annual flu shot, but in a tour bus that comes to different locations. The bus environment has been made corona-proof, so that employees can be vaccinated safely.
“It is important to us as a care organization that all employees, clients and residents remain safe and healthy. The flu vaccination makes an important contribution to this, ”says absenteeism specialist Sylvia Nuis. In previous years, employees at the care locations could go for the flu shot, but to prevent COVID-19 contamination, Careyn wants to limit the number of people who visit a location as much as possible. This also applies to employees.
The influenza vaccination campaign was outsourced to an external organization in previous years, but this year it will be managed in-house. Nuis: “We started looking for a mobile corona-proof solution that allows sufficient distance from each other. That’s how we came up with the idea of a tour bus. ”

Benches have been removed from the bus to create space for three puncture points. Registered employees are invited to a specific time slot. Upon arrival, they must disinfect their hands at the entrance and are required to wear a face mask. Inside the bus, there is one-way traffic and the vaccine employees wear protective clothing. “We ended up at Koninklijke Beuk Tours for the bus. They were immediately very enthusiastic and mainly contributed to the corona proof conversion ”, says Nuis.
The bus will tour selected locations in the regions of Utrecht-City, Utrecht-West, DWO-NWN, Zuid-Hollandseilanden and Breda (Jong JGZ locations) from Monday 9 to Friday 13 November.
