The police confirm that the man is employed as a caretaker in a municipality in Møre og Romsdal, and that the victim is a student at the same school where the accused works.
– We do not currently know whether the accused has established contact with the offended through his work at the school, says police attorney Maria Nørve Vike in Møre og Romsdal police district to TV 2.
According to the indictment, the girl must have been 13 years old when the first assault took place. The man is also charged with sexual intercourse with children between the ages of 14 and 16 and sexual intercourse with children under the age of 16.
Appeal imprisonment
According to the ruling, the man has pleaded guilty to two counts in the charge, but denies having sexual intercourse with the girl before she was 14 years old. It also appears from the court’s ruling that there must have been extensive contact between the two on the chat log on Facebook.
– We are working to review digital seizures, police attorney Maria Nørve Vike states.
The man was arrested by the police on Saturday and taken into custody yesterday. The court believes that there are good grounds for suspicion and has upheld the police’s request for custody for two weeks, which is justified by the risk of evidence being lost.
Attorney Torgeir H. Langva has been appointed as defense counsel in the case.
– The question of imprisonment has been appealed to the Court of Appeal. My client believes there is no danger of evidence being lost and asks to be released, Langva says to TV 2.
