Care for the Elderly: Review, Reflection, and Action Plan – Corinthians Easter of the Sick 2023

Review

It is paradoxical that in a society in which, thanks to research, medical, labor, social advances, etc. you get older every time
higher quality and there are more and more older people (we already talk naturally about reaching 105 years of age), the value given to this entire population, those over 65 years of age, is becoming less and less. There is no doubt that one of the great social issues we have today is our elders, the place that
they occupy, their participation and the attention they deserve from society and the Church itself.

Our magazine Corinthians Easter of the Sick 2023: «It is more important than ever to carry out a careful, clairvoyant and honest reflection on how contemporary society should “approach” the elderly population.

In that sense, dioceses, parishes and all ecclesial communities are invited to carry out an honest reflection that allows us a new vision, a new paradigm, to better care for our elderly.
