This week, rapper Cardi B was awarded almost one million pounds in compensation.
Youtuber Latasha Kebe, known as Tasha K, is said to have exposed Cardi B to a malicious campaign with false accusations, according to BBC.
On Monday, it became known that the rapper won the lawsuit against the youtuber for defamation, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Degrading and harassing statements
Kebe began making degrading and harassing statements in early 2018. At one point, she allegedly claimed that the rapper had worked as a prostitute and used cocaine.
Cardi B’s lawyers have since stated that the videos on Kebe’s channel caused the rapper embarrassment, humiliation, mental anxiety and emotional distress.
Further legal proceedings will determine whether Kebe will have to pay additional compensation and reimburse Cardi B’s legal expenses.
Thank you to the jury
Following the lawsuit, Cardi B issued a statement to the media, which was published by TMZ.
– The last couple of years have been difficult for me when I have had to relive it all the time. It has been very difficult.
She also thanks the jury members in the case who she believes made a fair and correct decision.
