Cardi B became the first rapper with a diamond song – “Bodak Yellow”, announced Female First, quoted by BTA.
The certificate from the American Recording Industry Association means that the song has scored 10 million units in sales and streaming.
The singer thanked her fans, saying that she owes her success to them.
“Years ago, I had no idea what it meant to be a diamond, I just wanted to win and break. This record changed my life. Thank you for all the support,” Cardi B wrote on her Instagram account.
The singer has said before that there are “crazy expectations” for rappers and many compare them as if they expect their failure. That’s why she tries very hard herself.
